Aldershot Cricket Club are delighted to announce the signing of talented Australian youngster Sean O’Dwyer for the 2017 Thames Valley League season.

O’Dwyer, 20, currently plays for West Torrens Eagles CC in South Australia’s District Competition alongside Australian internationals Callum Ferguson and Kane Richardson.

The bowler will join up with the squad before the start of the season as Amir Hameed’s side prepare for life back in Division 2.

After making his debut for West Torrens in 2009/10, O’Dwyer progressed through the youth setup, and broke into the first-team last season, where he made six appearances.

The seamer regularly plays for the second XI and has taken 82 wickets at an average of 18.79, and recorded his career-best figures of 5-25 as an 18-year-old in the 2014/15 season.

He represented South Australia’s U17 side in the 2013/14 season, and will look to follow in the footsteps of Travis Head, Jason Gillespie and former Hampshire batsman Phillip Hughes.

At the same time, we have a thriving youth section of boys and girls, from age 9 through to 17, supported by qualified ECB coaches.

We are very proud of the youth section and we have an excellent record of giving both boys and girls the opportunity to play senior cricket as soon as they are ready. If you have son or daughter who is interested in joining, please contact rogersmith@in2cricket. Coaching continues throughout the winter.  We have a range of modern playing facilities with the most recent addition being a state of the art three lane practice area. Work is also currently under way to upgrade some of the playing facilities.
