MESSAGE FROM THE CLUB CAPTAIN
JOHN SUMMERSBY

"Welcome to Aldershot Cricket Club. We have 5 senior teams play on Saturdays. The top 3 teams play in the Thames Valley League and the 4s and 5s play in the Hampshire Cricket League. 1 women's team plays on Sundays in Division One of the Hampshire League. We have one midweek team aimed at those returning to cricket or not able to commit to an afternoon of cricket. Finally, we have one friendly team also plays regularly throughout the season on Sundays.

So if you enjoy cricket and you are interested in joining us, please get in touch with john.summersby@yahoo.co.uk. At the same time, we have a thriving youth section of boys and girls, from age 9 through to 17, supported by qualified ECB coaches.

We are very proud of the youth section and we have an excellent record of giving both boys and girls the opportunity to play senior cricket as soon as they are ready. If you have son or daughter who is interested in joining, please contact rogersmith@in2cricket. Coaching continues throughout the winter.  We have a range of modern playing facilities with the most recent addition being a state of the art three lane practice area.

Aldershot Cricket Club are deeply saddened about the passing of Tim Monday. Tim was playing for his local side West Chiltington on Saturday afternoon when he passed away. The batsman was regarded as the greatest ever homegrown player, with a flurry of runs for the first team during the 1980s and 1990s. Tim returned to the club in recent seasons to take part in the annual 6-a-side tournament alongside his son, Jack and was at the heart of the Legends side throughout. His funeral will be held on Wednesday 19th July at Worthing Crematorium at 1:40pm for any club members who knew Tim to attend.

Tim was a true legend to Aldershot Cricket Club and will be deeply missed by everybody at the club. Rest In Peace Tim Monday.
